This is probably simple speciality from Hollywood which is supposedly entertaining but at the end you feel tired instead of refreshed from the 'entertainment'. Contraband - Crew / Cast: Director: Baltasar Kormkur, with: Mark Wahlberg (Chris Farraday), Kate Beckinsale (Kate Farraday), Ben Foster (Sebastian Abney). Contraband cast list, listed alphabetically with photos when available. Lacks character and maybe "soul"!? On the other hand, I kept watching it to the end. Legendary smuggler Chris Farraday had abandoned his life of crime to settle into a life of comfortable. When a neutral Danish merchant ship is forced to put into port after trying to evade British wartime contraband control, its captain becomes involved in a beautiful British Naval Intelligent agent's efforts to capture a group of German spies operating from a London cinema. I completely understand people who didn't like it because for me was on the edge - could easily go to the other side, mainly because even with all the action and all the twists still felt somehow distant, with no connection to the most of the viewers.
I cannot say that I find the work of the director or the writer Aaron Guzikowski lacking, but there was not much to be remembered.
